If anybody doesn't know about Farnworth its a town stuck in between Bolton and Manchester. In the most part its pretty vile, but somehow I manage to end up there every time I visit the north west. It always brings back memories for me as I spent most Saturdays in Aldi with my mum and dad, wishing I was in ASDA buying good cereal instead of Harvest Morn. Nowadays I actively avoid shopping in Tesco because I always over indulge and overspend on fancy shaped pasta and quinoa. I cant stand these so called fruit and veg offers '2 for £4' etc. when you can get twice as much in Aldi or Lidl. One of the positive things about Farnworth is the cheap charity shops, where I bought my annual man jumper (£4.99). My mum says I look like a beatnik but I think I need a beret for that.

So its been a couple of weeks since I used the blog, which is sad really because theres been loads going on and lots I could write loads. Its been ridiculously hot which has put me off even bothering to use a computer or even watch tele :-O. It has been quite shocking that I've missed several episodes of Coronation Street and Eastenders. These are my core, reliable escapist programmes that I refuse to miss yet somehow they have just passed me by!! I just don't see the point in wasting time making my eyes squarer (I'l save that for the Autumn) But anyway I'm gonna post some of my july hightlights. Relaxing by the poool... Finding new spots in my village to have a rest and reflect on life n shizzle.. My trip to Lincoln involved seeing the castle and its grounds... Unfortunately we couldnt see it all because they were filming Call the Midwife, we did get to see a little glimpse of 'Helen George' .... Woo!! The old part of Lincoln was amazing with little tea shops, vintage clothing boutiques and all kinds of traditional/ handmade/ artisan type stores. Perfect for pottering and admiring things you cant afford hah. The tea and scones were the best I'd ever had!! (Even though I argued about the 'consistency' of the scone) So its Friday the 13th and I'm feeling pretty lucky today as I've received good news about my job transfer 'up-north'; a term that people down here regularly throw around when referring to anywhere past like Oxford?!. Despite my generally great mood today, (which has mainly been attributed to not being in work I have felt a kind of sadness creeping in. Yes its because of the weather changing and the realisation that summer is actually over. I really don't mind autumn and September in general because its always signified new starts for me; like a new school term or job. Anyway, I thought Id take the chance to document my Summer Memories. In no particular order:
- Raving at Razzmatazz in BCN and reliving the dream during 'off-sonar'. - David Bowie Exhibition- Freeking amazing! - Unity Day in Leeds <3 Best night owt in ages! - Gay PRIDE in Manchester and the Rovers Return float :-D - Free desserts. Finally I can say, fuck you Pizza Express ! |
