Victories:
- Finding a local whole-food/organic/vegan/ethical shop
- Ordering a soya Latte and it arriving with chocolate bourbon biscuit- but giving it to a little girl sat on the next table and passing it off as a good deed. :-D
- Crunchy Nut Cornflakes.. Honey is not vegan ? Right?!
- The Great British Bake Off
So week 1 has been pretty easy, possibly because its new and I'm not bored of eating the same recipes, or maybe because its been very easy to switch butter and milk for vegan alternatives. It helps that I've been a Vege since I was tiny but why do I feel liberated you may ask??
Having loosely followed a Slimming World maintaining diet for the past few years since the weight loss, its been a continuous battle against sugar coated, cream injected, pastry cased temptations. But now it seems I'm dancing to the 'free from' section and my eyes light up at the sight of anything* vegan friendly. Calorie counting has taken a back seat on the never ending diet bus. But does this mean I'll become diabetic now I'm suddenly binging on sugar?! This can't be good, and will I actually put on weight? :-S No, joking aside I think the subject of sugar is a whole other post when considering you get videos like this and more recently articles like this. But seriously, deficiencies have been more of a worry of mine and on-line articles have thrown up the need for all kind of supplements (B12, Calcium, omega-3 fatty acids..etc). I need to get on this!
Anyway heres a few pics from the week:
